As TalkCAFC approaches our relaunch, we want new writers to join our team. You will need to moderate the forum on a regular basis as well as post news stories in the main website. If you feel you are up for the challenge then email james.easton@gmail.com with your name, age and any info you feel is relevant, and an exemplary match report that you have written.
Last night Charlton were taught a lesson in European football, leaving many fans thinking we seriously need to step up a level if we are ever to succeed in getting a European place and then playing in Europe. A different kind of fixture for the Addicks, it's ashame we couldn't take a big support over there, but flight and hotel prices at this time of year make this unfeasable for many people. Now on to the match. We were walked all over in the first half leaving a half time deficit of 2-0. Gonzalo Sorondo got a goal back for us from a corner just after the break in the 47th but right at the death of the match the game was settled when they scored their 3rd. Oh well, an exciting friendly to watch and even more so when I found a TV stream on the internet of TVVI which were the local Spanish TV channel showing the match. Better than paying £15 for 12 months with Setanta!!

....we have taken Liverpool's Salif Diao on a trial. Quite an exciting prospect in my opinion.

Another high profile signing hit the Valley today in the form of former Leeds, Chelsea and Boro striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. A good signing in my opinion and one to team up with good old Dazza up front. He came on a free and im sure will be a major player in the upcoming season.

This is a teaser image of the new home kit, due to be released on 20th July. Looks like a red torso and white sleeves, quite cool at the moment!

Im gutted, the nation is gutted, the players are gutted, England are out of a major tournament in a sense of De-Ja-Vu of Euro 2004, a penalty shoot out against Portugal was the decider. A match where Rooney was sent off by the Argentinian referee, we had some chances to win in normal and extra time and Portugal were a weaker side, we did not take our chances.
It went to penalties, the whole nation had their heads in their hands, Lampard missed. Then Portugal scored, Hargreaves scored, Portugal missed (we could go ahead), Gerrard missed, Portugal scored, Carragher missed, and that wanker Cristiano Ronaldo was the person who sent the neighbours of Spain through to the Semi Finals.
Gutted, thats all I can say.
