So a new season, a new league, and new times at The Valley. A summer of changes, with Darren Bent and Luke Young the most prolific of our departures, meant a completely different looking team started yesterday's match in the Coca Cola Championship. This is only a brief report as I am not in the UK at the moment, but come September you will have full Match Reports when I return, with the passion I carry from watching the match first hand. Charlton were unable to start on a winning note after drawing 1-1 at home to Championship newcomers Scunthorpe. Marcus Bent put Charlton ahead on 62 minutes, but new signing Izzy Iriekpen levelled on 69 minutes. (skysports.com)
Charlton: Weaver; Moutaouakil, Thatcher, McCarthy, Bougherra; Sam, Semedo, Ambrose, Reid; Bent (Iwelumo 74), Todorov (McLeod 66). Subs (not used): Randolph, Fortune, Sinclair.
