TalkCAFC Special Report: Watford 0 - 3 Bolton

As most readers know, I do like to follow Charlton away when I can, but today I really couldn't be bothered to travel up to Sheffield and back for the FA Cup match. So I decided to get my football fix by going to see Championship meet Premiership at Watford's Vicarage Road Ground. It was Watford V Bolton. Myself and my mate Chris disliking Bolton strongly since their 1-0 win at The Valley in October were hoping of a cup upset and Watford going through to the 4th round. It was wierd going to a club in the Championship, a ground so different to The Valley, or in fact any ground I have been too, even Pompey! We got seats in their equivalent of the North Stand where the singing went on. Good view and pre match build up, the atmosphere was pumping despite a surprisingly 3/4 full stadia.
Unfortunately for Watford, due to sloppy play from midfield and defence, they went 1-0 down from a weak shot from Jared Borgetti. That goal seemed to give Watford a kick up the backside and a couple of shots narrowly missed for them up the other end. Again due to slack defence from The Hornets, Stelios Giannakopoulos scored again to put the Premiership high riders 2-0 up. This remained until half time.
Watford's manager seemed to give a great half time team talk as Watford came out on fire. Lots of shots and attempts really should have put Watford back in the game, but a strong Bolton defence and lots of fannying around with the ball instead of shooting from Watford meant nothing came from it. Instead, Bolton took it upon themselves to spoil any comeback with another goal, this time from Vaz Te. The game was well and truely wrapped up for them.
A great and strange match for me to watch, but one thing that was great to see was Anthony McNamee who had the pace and skill surely to be good enough in the Premiership. A great little player who reminded me of what Jamal Campbell-Ryce was when he played for us Addicks.
