Match Report: Everton 3 - 1 Charlton

Having seen a great New Years Eve performance on Saturday, the perfect way to celebrate the New Year, it just seems crazy we lost 3-1 today to premiership strugglers, Everton. With Dennis Rommedahl conceding a penalty early on, which the commentary said should have been sent off, we went a goal behind, but hit back relitively quickly with Matt Holland scoring his first of the season. Just before half time, we went behind again with Tim Cahill scoring. A bad way to go into half time, but with only one goal behind, we had a chance. This chance was not taken. Everton scored again in the second half and had a fourth disallowed. Misses late on by Lisbie, Ambrose and Bartlett could have got us back into the game, but it was a dissapointing loss for us, one we should have capitalised upon and we need to gain confidence by beating Wednesday in the cup next week and then beating Birmingham at home the week after.
