3rd Match at home, 2nd loss, 2nd half = crap. What's wrong with us!? Second in the league and all looks good going into the match as favourites.
With HH out for The Elk, I was hoping for a win. A slow start to the first, 20 minutes in, a ball gets through to Bent and it looks like he is going to miss it, but no, he burys it. Yes, we went mental, we were beating the spuds. Another sitter was missed by Bent, but we went in 1 nil at the break.
The second started with no changes, Bent is up in the box, looks like he is crowded out by the Spuds defence but somehow manages to rifle a shot into the top left corner. 2-0 and most people are not back from there half time drink!
Unfortunately for us, 3 minutes later, a cross gets into the box and deflects of King into the other side of the net from Andersen. Damn.
But the worst was yet to come, Young misses a sitter, Spuds equalise with a great shot from Mido and Bent gets subbed off for Bartlett because he seemed injured.
With the ref on there side, Spuds get us on the counter attack and score. 3-2. I had my head in my hands. I could not believe it. We threw away a 2 goal lead for an abysmal half. Bartlett missed a sitter (NO SURPRISE THERE!) and Luke Young narrowly missed a shot right at the dead of the game. We were all over them for the last 10 minutes but couldn't find the equaliser. That was that. We were crap. what is up with our second half performances?
Man Of The Match:Darren Bent (only decent player)
