Spanish press today have strongly linked Barcelona's Argentinian starlet Javier Saviola with a season long loan deal with Premier league club Charlton Athletic. Saviola is not seen by Manager Frank Rijkaard as part of the Spanish champions plans and is said to be keen on a move away from La Liga. It is unclear whether Saviola will be tempted by the 'Addicks' with bigger clubs such as Athletico Madrid also interested. However Charlton boss Alan Curbishley is said to be desperate to sign another striker as Charlton have been reportedly turned down by Blackburn striker Jon Stead who completed a move to Sunderland today.
